The most significant historical milestones that have marked the years of the "Green Pearl"
A Riccione Two hundred years ago , during the rule of the Roman Empire, there were the first settlements and the first traces of human life , with the creation of small residential areas. Since the twentieth century there was a significant push to become an independent town (which became official on October 23, 1923), and took the first form hypotheses about the origins of the name Riccione , according to scholars, the more credible is that which contains the reference to a large rock located in the vicinity at the time called Arcioni , from which the city took its name.
